The 25th of May is upon us and it is, once again, time to honour those men that stood their ground in the Chaos and did the Job in Front of Them. Not for King and Country, Not for the Patrician or a political cause not for the citizens of the City, not even because they thought it was a just cause.... They did it because it was their duty, it was what they stood for, it was for each-other, it was the candle in the darkness.
The 25th of May pin is our only annual product and is especially created to commemorate people who light a candle in the dark, whether it be to give hope to those who suffer from illness or for those who would risk their own lives so other citizens do not have to.
2008's pin was massively successful and specifically commemorated Sgt Keel. This year we take a more general look at the Revolution and what the Rebels aspired to. Again the Lilac is the cornerstone of the design representing those who wore the lilac to identify them as a "friend". The pillar represents the City... ever present whatever rulers come and go. The Egg stands as a reminder that whatever a rebellion's lofty goal, it is the simple things that are important.
The backing card, which is traditional for the May pin, gives a few insights into the making of the pin.
As a twist, we will be offering a very exclusive prize to eight people. If you are the 3rd, 5th, 9th, 18th, 25th, 103rd, 105th, 109th or 118th person to buy your pin, you will also get a 2" special edition proof version.
These are one of only 10 produced.
Don't worry if you don't get one with you order as there will be another chance by entering the competition in Discworld Monthly.
